Dear Wish Fountain, I have been disappointed again. I received another rejection for my application. Why is it that when you are in your mid-fifties, you no longer get a chance in the job market? I am so tired of always having to function and only being allowed to do what others decide. I also want to have the right to be who I am. I wish for fair treatment in my profession and in my private life, and I want to have my peace and not always be rushed. All of this makes me sick, and I want to lead a happy, harmonious life. I want a partner who means something to me, who appreciates me and loves me as I am. And not someone who just takes advantage of me on the weekends as if I otherwise wouldn't be working. I want to experience appreciation for what I have already done for others in life and not always function as an indifferent appendage.
